ABOUT

Kelsea Cire` was born in Torrance, California.  The youngest of seven children, Kelsea began singing at the age of seven performing in a school talent show. 

Exposed to many different musical genres, Kelsea developed an appreciation for all types of music. While singing in school choirs she was drawn to classical music, and eventually to jazz.  Kelsea enjoys arranging and interpreting jazz charts adding her youthful perspective to every piece. She also continues to develop her skills as a jazz pianist. Her upbeat attitude is infectious, producing an undeniable

connection to her audience. Kelsea brings a unique vocal quality to her performance. Her rich, warm vocal tone, and four octave range makes Kelsea Cire` a versatile vocalist.

 

Kelsea Cire’ began her jazz studies with Ellen Johnson.  At the age of 17,

Kelsea was a 2008 Gibson Baldwin Grammy Jazz Ensemble finalist, and a member of the 2008 CA All-State Jazz Choir, working with Rosana Eckert and Kerry Marsh.  Kelsea also received “Outstanding Vocalist” awards at the 2008 Reno Jazz Festival, the 2007 Moorpark Jazz Festival, the 2007 Fullerton Jazz Festival, and the 2007 Cuesta College Jazz Festival. Kelsea was awarded

“Outstanding Classical Voice” 2009 & 2010 from The School of Music Vocations, SWCC, Creston IA.

 

 

As a member of the vocal jazz group “Audio Radiance”, directed by Grammy nominated Jason Smith, Kelsea toured the Midwest and Canada and opened for the “Real Group”.  She has performed at Catalina’s Jazz Club with jazz pianist George Kahn, the Broad Stage, the Skirball Cultural Center, the Long Beach Convention Center, the Marsee Auditorium, and the Holiday Inn Hotel.  Kelsea Cire’ directed the Vocal Jazz Ensemble at Torrance High School and was also assistant director of the classical choir. Kelsea has also taught piano lessons to people in drug recovery at the Salvation Army. 

 

 

Kelsea Cire’ obtained an AA Degree in Professional Music from “The School of Music Vocations” at Southwestern Community College in Creston, IA. While attending The School of Music Vocations, Kelsea studied with Jason Smith, Lucas Mattson, Jacqueline Thomson, Doug Green, Vern Smith, Lisa McLaggan, Lisa Roth, Ryan Howe, and acclaimed arrangers DR. Jeremy Fox, and Phil Mattson. Kelsea has continued her studies with Cindy Bourquin, Keith Fiddmont, Andreas Preponis, Byron Smith and Diana Zaslove Khan.

Currently, Kelsea is gigging locally around the South Bay and Los Angeles area.
